Dear CSSA members:
With all your support and the hard work of CSSA committee, CSSA 2006-2007 achieved the great success in terms of organization performance and social involvement. Students Organization Office (SOO) along with Dean of Students give the award of "OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE CAMPUS" to CSSA in the annual organization ceremony held on Monday. It is a milestone to CSSA to show that our work and reputation have been recognized by the University. CSSA president Jinjin Zhou was awarded as: "OUTSTANDING STUDENT LEADER OF THE YEAR" for his excellent presidency and impressive contribution to improve CSSA involvement in campus and community affairs. Congratulations to those incredible accomplishments. Please also help us to give your hands to CSSA 2006-2007 committee members due to their diligence, intelligence and consistency to lead CSSA in the past academic year. Without their contributions, CSSA will not have the success today. In addition, CSSA would also like to acknowledge everyone who give the kind suggestions, help in any events organized by CSSA. They deserve to have all the honors from CSSA by any means. At the time when CSSA 2006-2007 committee is going to finish the service, we are glad to receive the applications from our members to run for the next year CSSA president. Until May 1st, deadline of calling for applications, we received two qualified applications from Dan Zhu (Sabrina) and Kuang Sheng Hong. CSSA thanks them for their intention to lead CSSA next year. According to the by-law, CSSA will hold elections to choose president from the two candidates. To make sure the result is fair to both of the candidates; the election is open to everyone in the campus who are willing to vote. Please note that only people who present in the election can have the effective votes. So come to support your ideal president candidate. By law, the election procedure will have four steps: 1. Each candidate have NO MORE THAN FIVE minutes to make election statement; 2. Q&A, questions from audiences and answered by both candidates; 3. Debates, audiences who would like to give speech to support candidates can speak 1MINUTE CAP EACH TIME. The time limit is very strict and the speech which is over the time limit will be cut by MC of the election. However, anyone can have unlimited chances to give speech. 4. Voting, each audience can only vote ONE candidate. You can also choose to abstain. Result will be revealed after counting by two people. Hope this procedure is clear to everyone. We require everybody to obey the election rule to make sure the clear election. The Time and Location for election will be decided shortly by CSSA committee. Again, thanks all of CSSA members who make contributions to improve our community. Your consistent supports are greatly appreciated. CSSA 2006-2007 May, 2007
